About My Photography

I've taken photographs for most of my life. I was just eight or nine when my Grandparents gave me my first camera for Christmas and, as simple as it was, I loved it. It wasn't until much later, though, that I stopped just taking photos, and started really making them.

Growing up in the austere landscape of the Pennines gave me an affinity with simple, graphic, composition which has been a huge influence on my creativity.

I think in many ways photography began as an "easy" way to make art; I didn't have to learn how to paint, I didn't need to know how to draw - all it took was to press the shutter release.

Anyway, within these galleries, you'll see some of my passions surfacing: portraits, architecture, landscapes and design.
